About Carolyn — As a Designer
Everyone has the right to access technology's benefits without frustration. That is why I am passionate about creating digital solutions that are intuitive and accessible to people of all digital literacy levels.
My Design Philosophy
We are fortunate to live in a time where digital technology is constantly evolving and improving to better meet our needs. However, that can also make it challenging for individuals to keep up. I believe that everyone has the right to safely and confidently rely on technology as a tool—which is why I value crafting digital solutions that are not only visually accessible but functionally accessible as well. In other words, they are empathetic of the natural variance in digital understanding among users.
My Background
I haven’t always been a designer, but the drive to create and discover has always been a part of me. As a kid, I loved drawing and painting, and that passion stayed with me through high school. At the same time, I also had a deep curiosity for experimenting and learning, which led me to pursue a science degree. That path fed my curiosity, but it also kept me from my true passion for creating. That realization became a turning point, leading me to where I am today.
Now, as an Interaction Designer, I have the best of both worlds! I still get to feed my curiosity, but I get to do so while embracing my instinct to make and create. This strong combination of backgrounds and values helps me ask the right questions, which leads to the development of solutions that embrace society's diversity and the unique needs of individuals.
About Carolyn — As a Human
Tea lover. Gamer. Cat enthusiast.
When I am not in designer mode, I love drinking tea, reading, and playing video games. I also enjoy spending time with my cats and collecting things!
Reading
I love to read, and can easily finish a four-hundred-page book if the story is captivating enough! My reading preferences align more with the science fiction and romance genres. However, I have recently become very fond of Contemporary Japanese Fiction after reading Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood and Hiro Arikawa's The Travelling Cat Chronicles.
My Cats
If you're a fellow cat lover like me, you understand the need to show them off whenever you can!

Collecting
To me, everything tells a story, which is probably one of the reasons why I love collecting things. Along with my personal library, I have a few small collections—coins, snow globes, LEGO, and cat-themed mugs, which are a must for my morning tea.
Video Games
I have been playing video games since the release of Disney Princess Enchanted Learning on the Leapster in 2004. While I've mostly stuck to Nintendo games and Minecraft since then, I recently bought a gaming PC which I am using to explore more hardware-heavy games!
